VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Trail of Terror 2024

published: March 26th, 2024 by in Event, Uncategorized

The Redmond Ridge ROA seeks Halloween enthusiasts of all ages to volunteer for this year’s Trail of Terror: INVASION, taking place on Saturday, October 26, from 7 to 9:30 PM at the Redmond Ridge Community and Event Center.

The Trail of Terror is an annual haunted trail event in Redmond Ridge. Set outdoors on the community center grounds, rain or shine, it offers opportunities for volunteers to participate as spooky actors, prop designers, setup/cleanup crew, planners, and administrators, both before, during, and after the event. You get to choose your role!

High school students can fulfill community volunteer requirements for school credit by participating in this event.

You don’t have to be a Redmond Ridge resident to join in—invite your friends!

Actors

Approximately 5 – 7 hour time commitment

Do you have a knack for the dramatic, or do you just enjoy giving strangers a good scare? Then this role is perfect for you!

Your level of interaction with guests can vary from high to very minimal, depending on your comfort level.

Actors will need to attend one rehearsal prior to the event and show up 1-2 hours before the event for makeup/costume (depending on your role). All actors are also asked to remain after the event for about 1 hour to help with tear-down.

Design

Approximately 4 – 8 hour time commitment

We need help with prop design in the weeks and months leading up to the event. Prop design can be done at the Redmond Ridge ROA office during business hours, or at your own home.

We also need a team of people to help us setup the props before the start of the event. Setup crews will meet the morning of the event.

Administrative

Approximately 4 hour time commitment

These volunteers will help sell and take tickets, monitor lines and direct attendees. Must be comfortable answering questions, and explaining rules to attendees.

Project Leaders

Approximately 8 – 12 hour time commitment

We need at four (4) adult volunteer team leaders. These team leaders will attend pre-event meetings (that fit your schedule) and be charged with the setup and management of one section of the trail. You will lead your team of volunteers in setup and tear down of your section, as well as provide support to actors and other volunteers as needed during the event.
