If you are interested in debris pickup, please send an email to damagereporting@kingcounty.gov and say “Debris Clearing” in the subject line. For any additional questions, please send an email to AskOEM@kingcounty.gov or visit www.kcemergency.com.
In collaboration with the KC Solid Waste Division and KC Road Services Division, KC Office of Emergency Management (OEM) has engaged with the Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) and is working with Team Rubicon to assist residents in the hardest hit areas of unincorporated King County with debris cleanup on their property, which are primarily in District 3 and District 9. WCC and Team Rubicon will be able to assist with clearing woody debris from the windstorm.
Damage Assessment
(Below is a notice from KC Office of Emergency Management regarding damage assistance)
King County Emergency Management wants to know if the November 17-25 windstorm caused damage to your residence (this could include damage from the bomb cyclone, straight-line winds, flooding, mudslides, and/or landslides). This information may help us request state and/or federal government disaster assistance.
We are focused on collecting information for your primary residence, not for sheds, fences, or yards. Also, keep in mind that assistance programs cannot cover costs that are covered by your insurance. If your primary residence or your business was damaged by the weather, we’d like to hear from you. Here is the link to report your damages. Visit www.kcemergency.com for more information.
If your property (private and business) has been damaged in this storm, you may also qualify for property tax relief. The King County Assessor’s Office will be contacting people who respond to share information about potential property tax relief.
